Baked Ham with Sweet ‘N’ Sour Plum Sauce
Ingredients
  • 6lb. Farmland fully-cooked Boneless Smoked Ham
  • 1can purple plums packed heavy syrup (15 oz.)drained, pitted and pureed
  • 1cup crushed pineapple packed in juiceundrained
  • ¼cup sliced green onion
  • ¼cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2Tbsp. seasoned rice wine vinegar
  • 2Tbsp. honey
  • 1Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1tsp. grated fresh ginger root
  • 1clove garlicminced (1/2 tsp.)
  • tsp. Chinese five-spice
Instructions
  1. Score ham by making diagonal cuts in a diamond pattern. Place ham on rack in shallow roasting pan. Bake in 325° F. preheated oven for 1 hour, 30 minutes to 1 hour, 45 minutes, or until meat thermometer registers 140° F.
  2. Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients in medium saucepan. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
  3. Brush ham with sauce every 15 minutes during last 30 minutes of baking.
  4. Remove to serving platter and tent with foil. Let stand 15 minutes. Brush with sauce. Carve and serve with remaining sauce.
  5. If desired, garnish with green onion flowers, wedges of fresh plums and unpeeled pineapple.
