Night Warehouse Team Lead Job Description

Our night crew is vastly important to the success of our company. That’s why we are seeking a driven, engaging and motivational leader to help guide the team towards success.

The Night Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for supervising the Warehouse Shift Trainers and directs the training activities for new hires and tenured staff. The position will also coordinate, supervise and delegate the warehouse operations workload to the Night Warehouse Associates.

To list a few functions while on the job, you will be executing on-floor audits to maintain food safety standards, HACCP requirements, load quality, and product recall demands. Plan on also assisting employees to resolve problems with picks, subs, outs, and locating products. 

Night Warehouse Team Lead Schedule

  • Sundays – Thursdays  Hours are flexible and will vary. Must be able to work long hours when required and be available outside of the normally scheduled shift time.

Night Warehouse Team Lead Salary

  • Starting pay is negotiable based on level of experience.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Coordinates activities in compliance with all appropriate policies, safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Administers the auditing of truck maps and the safe, accurate loading of trucks.
  • Maintains warehouse inspection readiness in anticipation of audits from all applicable local, state and federal organizations.
  • Maintains primary responsibility for utilizing warehouse management software.
  • Supports the operation of Vo-Collect headsets and associated software.
  • Actively participates with the orientation and training of new hires as well as the refresher training of existing employees.
  • Oversees, schedules and assists with all activities to be performed by the Night Warehouse Clerks.
  • Partners with supervisors to participate in hiring, coaching, evaluation, and disciplinary action of Warehouse team.
  • Develops employees using coaching, mentoring, recognition and performance reviews.
  • Oversees seafood shipping and receiving, administrative process as well as planning and coordinating all cross-training and refresher training within the seafood department.
  • Plans and Coordinates “train the trainer” activities, keeping all Warehouse Shift Trainers aligned on content and messaging.
  • Plans and directs training for new employees and refresher training for existing employees working within the warehouse.
  • Ensures the Warehouse Shift Trainers are providing effective cross-training of associates when assigned new job functions.
  • Coordinates the performance observation process for Night Warehouse team members by the Warehouse Shift Trainers.
  • Verifies the Warehouse Shift Trainers are conducting training on warehouse best practices and material handling equipment for Night Warehouse team members.
  • Monitors training programs and reports on changes, concerns or issues that need to be resolved.
  • In partnership with the Employee Development Coordinator, conducts training assessments and assists with selecting, designing, scheduling and implementing training programs.
