Our Yard Jockey job is a hands-on and flexible to work with your busy schedule. As a part-time flex shift Yard Jockey, you will be responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all trailers, while also making sure the tractors and trailers are adequately fueled by the end of the day and assisting the Night Team with parking trailers.

Yard Jockey Job Description

The yard jockey job is a flexible, part-time Transportation position responsible for fueling, maintaining cleanliness, power washing and other assigned tasks of all equipment in our fleet. Find a schedule that works for you! You can put time in anywhere from 12pm – 8pm, Sun – Friday. You must work a minimum of 12hrs/wk. Pay for this position starts at $21/hr with the opportunity to earn annual performance-based raises. While on the job, you will learn and become familiar with the back of our box trucks and CDL A trucks, our fueling station and maintenance equipment, as well as our awesome team!

Essential Functions:

1. Fuel every piece of delivery equipment daily, including def.
2. Maintain cleanliness of fueling area, include sweeping, trash removal, maintaining a safe work environment.
3. Report any fueling equipment malfunctions to management.
4. Power washing outside of tractors and outside/inside of trailers.
5. Assist in fixing hand carts and load bars.
6. Assist with keeping tractor cabs clean and stocked with proper supplies.
7. Must be able to work multiple shifts – days, nights and possibly 1 weekend day occasionally.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Must a valid driver’s license. CDL A is not required for this position. We do have a CDL A Truck Driving School if you want to get pursue a driving career.
3. 1 – 2 years’ experience driving CDL and Non CDL trucks required for this position.
4. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, pull, bend and climb.
5. Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
6. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
7. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
8. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
9. Have a basic understanding of mechanics and how to operate certain tools.
